What Does Collins Think About Walker Spending Nearly One Million Taxpayer Dollars on State Plane Trips?

After criticizing Loeffler for her secretive private jet, Collins silent on Walker using taxpayer dollars to fly on the state plane nearly 900 times

ATLANTA — As top Trump ally Congressman Doug Collins touts support from former Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, he has yet to say what he thinks about Walker’s record of spending nearly $1 million of taxpayer money to fly himself almost 900 times on the state plane.

Collins has strongly criticized unelected “political mega-donor” Senator Kelly Loeffler for her secretive private jet she uses to hop around the state — including once for an 18-minute flight between Atlanta and Macon — but has said nothing about Walker’s wasteful use of state resources flying himself around Wisconsin as governor.

Like Loeffler, Walker had the plane take him laughably short distances, including a 24-mile flight between Appleton and Green Bay — and even once had the plane pick him up after a haircut in Milwaukee to go to a political event. But when it comes to transparency and accountability, Collins clearly has one standard for his adversaries and another for his corrupt allies.

“If Congressman Doug Collins thinks Senator Kelly Loeffler’s secretive private jet is bad, we can only imagine what he thinks about Governor Scott Walker’s wasteful use of taxpayer dollars to fly himself around Wisconsin on the state plane,” said Alex Floyd, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Collins should be upfront with Georgians about whether he thinks elected officials should be able to spend nearly one million taxpayer dollars to fly around the state — including for their personal business.”
