SHOT/CHASER: Loeffler Falsely Claims That “No One Knew” Coronavirus Was Coming — Even After She Received Private Briefing

SHOT: Unelected “political mega-donor” Senator Kelly Loeffler just made her latest desperate attempt to cover for her stock trading scandal by claiming in an interview with WJBF that “no one knew that this pandemic, at that time, was coming…even our health officials” when she made her trades.

Sen. Loeffler: “No one knew that this pandemic, at that time, was coming. There was, even our health officials, unfortunately, and I so wish that we had known more. I wish China had not withheld information and that we were all in a very different place.”

CHASER: Not only did US officials know about the coronavirus outbreak and its likelihood turn into a global pandemic potentially “as early as November,” but Loeffler herself even received a private Senate briefing on the coronavirus on January 24th — the very same day she began dumping stock. 

“It’s unfortunately not surprising that Senator Kelly Loeffler is resorting to outright falsehoods in her desperate attempts to cover for her stock trading scandal,” said Alex Floyd, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Once again, Loeffler would rather play a fact-free blame game than be honest with Georgians about her trading history.”
