LEAKED VIDEO: Kemp Let Outside Groups Write Georgia Voter Suppression Law

New leaked video shows conservative dark money group Heritage Action bragging to donors about crafting SB 202, the voter suppression law passed by Georgia Republicans and signed by Brian Kemp.

The video shows Heritage Action’s Executive Director and former Trump official Jessica Anderson admitting: “we actually draft [the legislation] for them or we…give them the model legislation so it has that grassroots, from-the-bottom-up type of vibe.”

Heritage Action admitted to writing “eight key provisions” of SB 202, which they boasted then became “the example for the rest of the country” as voter suppression laws swept across red states.

“Kemp and Georgia Republicans have been lying to Georgia voters about their racist voter suppression bill all along – rushing it through the legislature not to solve a problem, but at the direction of outside special interest groups who want to influence Georgia’s elections,” said Rebecca Galanti, spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Though Georgia Republicans claim they care about election integrity, this video exposes them as mere foot soldiers for right-wing Washington insiders hell-bent on suppressing our voters and rigging our democracy. Georgia deserves leaders who take their cues from the people, not from the special interest powers that be.”
