Where’s Walker? Walker Refuses To Answer For Latest Scandal

This week, new reporting from CNN found that Republican Herschel Walker is “potentially running afoul of both Texas tax rules and some Georgia rules on establishing residency for the purpose of voting or running for office,” by receiving a tax exemption meant for a “principal residence” on his Texas home.

In the 72 hours since the story broke, Walker has refused to answer Georgians’ questions about this latest scandal — in fact, he hasn’t answered a single question for “more than two dozen events” in a row.

Walker has dodged even the most basic policy questions on the campaign trail and avoided answering for his damning pattern of lies, scams, and disturbing conduct — proving once again that he is unfit for office.

• CNN: “Walker took the tax break in 2021 and 2022 for his Texas home even after launching a bid for Senate in Georgia, an official in the Tarrant County tax assessor office told CNN’s KFile. The Walker campaign did not respond to CNN’s repeated requests for comment.”

• Fox News: “Walker’s campaign did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.”

• The New York Times: “Mr. Walker’s tax exemption in Texas suggests that his primary residence remains outside Georgia. A spokesman for Mr. Walker’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment.”

• CNN: “For their part though, the [Walker] campaign is staying mum on this. But this really brings into focus that Herschel Walker was up until very recently a resident of Texas, that’s where he was living.” 

• Insider: “A representative for Walker did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.”

• MSNBC: “Walker and his campaign team haven’t yet responded to the latest reporting. Walker’s runoff election against Sen. Raphael Warnock, the incumbent Democrat, is 13 days away.”

• Texas Tribune: “Walker’s Texas homestead exemption might also raise questions about his Senate run in Georgia. […] Spokespeople for Walker did not immediately return requests for comment.”
