Help Move Georgia Forward
When Asked in Debate If She Had Any Disagreements with Trump, Loeffler Said “No”
Claimed: “I don’t know anything about QAnon”
ATLANTA — Senator Kelly Loeffler was asked tonight about the Access Hollywood video more than 9 out of 10 voters were familiar with and unbelievably claimed, “I’m not familiar with that.”
Key exchange:
11Alive’s Doug Richards: You know that President Trump was caught on tape talking about sexually assaulting women – you didn’t disagree with that? What does that say?
Sen. Kelly Loeffler: Look, what I agree with is the approach President Trump has taken since day one to put America first. What I am here focused on is working for Georgians in Washington and being their voice and being a conservative champion for Georgians.
Richards: You’re still not disagreeing with President Trump’s statements about personally sexually assaulting women?
Loeffler: I’m not familiar with that.
This isn’t the first time Loeffler offered a literally unbelievable answer. Loeffler has embraced the endorsement of QAnon believer Marjorie Taylor Greene, but claimed “I don’t know anything about QAnon” and that “I have not seen” widely spread reports of Greene’s “appalling” remarks.
At the debate earlier this month, Loeffler was asked if she could name a place where she disagreed with the president. Her reply? “No.”
“Senator Kelly Loeffler should know better than to pretend to be so unaware she can’t comment on widely-known offensive statements and bigoted remarks from politicians she wants an endorsement from,” said Alex Floyd, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Georgians deserve better than a senator who is incapable of answering tough questions without dodging and pledging ‘100%’ support to anyone who could help her campaign.”
