“Brian Kemp will never be able to win the General Election,” says Trump
Donald Trump released a new statement this afternoon attacking Brian Kemp, saying Kemp “will never be able to win” a general election, and continuing his efforts to unseat the current governor in support of his endorsed gubernatorial candidate, David Perdue. The statement is just the latest attack from Trump, who recently cut a $500,000 check to an anti-Kemp PAC (his largest contribution of the midterm cycle), hinted at another Georgia rally ahead of the May 24 Primary Election, and has noted to supporters that MAGA voters won’t vote for Kemp in a general election.
“Brian Kemp is fighting for his political life against Donald Trump and his handpicked candidate David Perdue. Feeling the pressure, Kemp dedicated the past year to enacting extreme and unpopular policies weakening gun safety and censoring what can be taught in Georgia classrooms, all in an effort to win over the MAGA base. The chaotic GOP infighting and four-candidate field is fueling Trump’s intent to force a runoff and unseat Kemp,” stated Max Flugrath, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia.
