The Inflation Reduction Act lowers health care costs for over one million Georgians, decreases the deficit by more than $300 billion, and would create good-paying Georgia jobs

The Inflation Reduction Act, which passed in the U.S. Senate and House and will soon be signed into law, includes huge health care wins for Georgia thanks to Reverend Warnock — including finally giving Medicare the ability to negotiate drug prices on behalf of Georgia seniors. The legislation lowers health care costs for over one million Georgians, decreases the deficit by more than $300 billion, and would create good-paying Georgia jobs. Meanwhile, GOP Senate candidate Herschel Walker says he opposes this victory for Georgians.

Walker has spent his campaign stops lying about the Inflation Reduction Act, accusing Democrats of “[spending] money we don’t have.” In reality, the Inflation Reduction Act would reduce the deficit by more than $300 billion, saving taxpayers money while lowering prescription drug costs.

Herschel Walker needs to explain to Georgians why he opposes these provisions:

  • Walker doesn’t support lowering prescription drug costs for Georgians by allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices for patients.
  • Walker doesn’t support capping the cost of insulin for Medicare patients at $35 a month and capping their out-of-pocket prescription drug costs at $2,000 a year.
  • Walker doesn’t support reducing the deficit by more than $300 billion while lowering health costs and increasing health benefits for Georgia seniors.
