Our nation was born by people yearning for freedom and independence.

In our history, no nation has paid their debt to freedom more regularly or more painfully than the United States.

On September 11, 2001, a terrible tragedy ripped apart American families, perished thousands of innocent victims, and sent our nation into two wars- one of which we still fight today.

Our nation survived these attacks. We will continue to survive other unforeseen challenges to our American freedom. We are a strong people. Nothing can stop the spirit and determination of an American people united against tyranny, terrorism and oppression.

Today, eleven years after 9/11, we remember those that gave their lives on that day. We remember the brave soldiers that gave their lives in battle throughout the world. And we remember the strong American spirit that resides in us all.

We will never forget.
