Last month Georgia Democrats announced an exciting opportunity for college juniors: Organizing Corps 2020.
What is Organizing Corps 2020?
Organizing Corps 2020 is a seven week hands-on training program created to recruit, train, and pay college juniors ahead of the 2020 elections. Corp members will learn how to work in their communities, registering voters and organizing neighborhoods.
Corp members will work approximately 40 hours a week from Tuesday-Saturday 11AM–7PM with some Sundays in your hometown.
Why should I join?
Organizing Corps 2020 will give you the opportunity to learn the skills needed to work on the 2020 General Election: register voters, recruit volunteers, set-up a campaign office, host a house party, organize your community, and use the newest data and digital tools to maximize your efforts.
Organizing Corps will help you to “develop career skills in leadership, project management and communication, and build a powerful network of like-minded peers and mentors from across the country that will last you well beyond 2020”.
What are the benefits?
Corps members can earn $4000 as well as travel and accommodations for our kick-off Summer Institute.
When is the deadline to apply?
The deadline to apply is Monday, April 8, 2019.
How can I get involved if I’m not a college junior, but still want to help Democrats win in 2020?
Even if you’re not a college junior, we’d love to have you help us turn Georgia blue! We have more opportunities in the works, so stay tuned to DPG’s social media for updates. In the meantime, we encourage you to get involved in your local party at the county or congressional district level.
