New polling shows that 60 percent of Americans back Biden’s COVID policies

Despite Brian Kemp’s best attempts to spin his do-nothing COVID-19 strategy into a political rallying cry for his “weak” re-election campaign at a GOP event yesterday, new polls this week show that the vast majority of Americans support President Biden’s decisive plan to tackle the pandemic. This morning, Axios released a survey showing that 60 percent of Americans approve of the Biden COVID-19 plan, and yesterday, Politico released a poll with Morning Consult revealing that the President’s latest policies are supported by roughly 3 in 5 Americans.

Meanwhile, as the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported this morning, Brian Kemp and the Georgia GOP are attempting to create a political issue when they should be focused on saving Georgians’ lives. According to the AJC, Kemp and his fellow Republicans are staking their political futures on a craven opposition to the popular, life-saving measures President Biden has put forward.

“It’s shameful that Brian Kemp and the rest of the Georgia Republican Party would rather play politics with the spread of COVID-19 than stand with President Biden, local governments, small businesses, and the majority of Americans to defeat the pandemic,” Rhyan Lake, spokeswoman for the Democratic Party of Georgia, said. “While Kemp’s main priority remains with battling Trump for control of the Georgia GOP, the President will continue to take historic action to defeat this pandemic, revitalize our economy, and build our country back better.”
