Recordings show Trump privately called the virus “deadly” and dangerous for “young people” as he admitted that he “wanted to always play [the threat] down” publicly
ATLANTA — In a new CNN report, unelected “political mega-donor” Senator Kelly Loeffler dismissed recent recordings of President Donald Trump admitting to “concealing the true threat of coronavirus” and publicly downplaying the danger as “fake news.”
Despite Loeffler’s outrageous and out-of-touch claim, Bob Woodward’s recordings show Trump “often ignored” warnings about the virus before later privately admitting that it was “more deadly than even your strenuous flus.” By March, while Loeffler was downplaying the virus herself and wanted to “commend” Trump “for leading such a strong response,” Trump was privately admitting that “I wanted to always play it down” and that “plenty of young people” were at risk from the virus, according to the recordings.
Loeffler’s claim that recordings of the president are somehow “fake news” comes as she is still desperate to distract from her own coronavirus stock trading scandal. Like Trump, Loeffler also tried to downplay the virus early on — while selling off millions in stocks as she and her husband invested in a telework firm and “a company that makes COVID-19 protective garments” during the crisis.
“Senator Kelly Loeffler is so desperate to score points with the White House that she’ll call recordings of the president privately admitting he’s downplaying coronavirus to the public ‘fake news,’ rather than hold him accountable for trying to conceal the extent of this threat,” said Alex Floyd, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Once again, Loeffler is putting politics and her own personal interests ahead of the health and well-being of Georgia families.”
