Help Move Georgia Forward
Loeffler claims there is not a single place where she disagrees with Trump and slams health care law and its protections for 1.8 million Georgians with pre-existing conditions
ATLANTA — Yesterday, in between escalating her intraparty war with self-proclaimed top Trump ally Congressman Doug Collins, unelected “political mega-donor” Senator Kelly Loeffler doubled-down on the GOP’s reckless health care agenda, saying that the health care law that protects coverage for 1.8 million Georgians with pre-existing conditions “has failed.”
The reality? Loeffler continues to stand “100%” behind an administration that is pushing a reckless lawsuit to overturn the health care law and its critical protections in the middle of a pandemic — a lawsuit Loeffler recently voted to allow funding for the administration to continue supporting. Loeffler even refused during the debate to name a single thing she disagrees with Trump on — including his efforts to “terminate” the health care law.
What would the outcome be for Georgians if Loeffler and her party were successful in their lawsuit to completely overturn the law she claimed has “failed”?
“Republicans are the ones who’ve ‘failed’ to protect Georgians’ health care in the middle of a pandemic,” said Alex Floyd, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “It’s shameful that at a time when Georgia families need their health care coverage most, Senator Kelly Loeffler is doubling down on her party’s disastrous agenda that could end the health care law and its protections for 1.8 million Georgians with pre-existing conditions.”
