KEMP’S AGENDA: Force a 10-Year-Old Rape Survivor to Carry Pregnancy to Term

National Right to Life, Which Endorsed Kemp, Says the 10-Year-Old Girl Raped in Ohio Should Have Been Forced to Give Birth

As Gov. Brian Kemp pushes to make his extreme abortion ban law in Georgia, a National Right to Life attorney claimed that under the group’s model legislation, the 10-year-old Ohio girl who was raped and had to cross state lines to receive an abortion should have been forced to carry the pregnancy to term.

National Right to Life and their Georgia chapter, Georgia Life Alliance, have both endorsed Kemp, who said he was “honored” to receive their backing.

Under Kemp’s agenda, survivors of rape and incest could be forced to give birth. Kemp has repeatedly stated his staunch opposition to any exceptions for rape or incest in an abortion ban.

Gov. Kemp, who personally supports banning abortion without exceptions for victims of rape or incest, has stayed silent on the Ohio 10-year-old’s case. He’s also refused to rule out taking further actions to pass a total abortion ban or impose additional restrictions on access to reproductive care in Georgia.

The Democratic Party of Georgia released the following statement in response:

“Governor Kemp has said he personally wants to ban abortion without any exceptions for survivors of rape or incest. Voters deserve to know — if Kemp is re-elected, will he push to force rape survivors to carry their pregnancies to term?” stated Max Flugrath, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia.
