As Brian Kemp delivers the State of the State address today, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Georgia has been ranked in the bottom ten of best states to raise a family, receiving among the worst marks in the country on key issues like health care, education, and economic prosperity. The new analysis underscores just how much Republican leadership has failed Georgians by refusing to invest in policies and programs that help working families thrive.
Under Kemp and Republicans’ leadership, Georgia ranks near the bottom of all states on issues such as:
“Regardless of whatever false picture Brian Kemp may try to paint, the truth is that our state has fallen further and further behind under failed GOP leadership,” said Rebecca Galanti, spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Kemp’s grandstanding and election-year stunts won’t distract Georgians from the facts: by refusing to expand Medicaid, mismanaging our state’s COVID-19 response, and neglecting to invest in our kids’ futures, Kemp has left Georgia families in the dust.”
