Yesterday, every single Georgia congressional Republican put millions of Georgia livelihoods at risk by voting against keeping America’s government operating — displaying Republicans’ dangerous partisan gamesmanship once again.
While GOP Reps. Buddy Carter, Drew Ferguson, Austin Scott, Andrew Clyde, Jody Hice, Barry Loudermilk, Rick Allen, and Marjorie Taylor Greene once again put politics ahead of Georgians, all six Georgia House Democrats and both of Georgia’s Senators joined a bipartisan effort to keep the government open and working for the people of Georgia.
“It is absolutely shameful that Georgia Republicans would unanimously support a government shutdown in the middle of a global pandemic while millions of Georgia families’ livelihoods were on the line. While President Biden and Georgia’s Democratic representatives are fighting to move our state forwards, the GOP has shown time and time again this year that they would rather actively stand in the way of getting our economy back on track and defeating this pandemic,” Rhyan Lake, spokeswoman for the Democratic Party of Georgia, said.
