Following the qualifying period for the 2024 elections, Georgia Democrats built on their record-breaking qualifying performances in the 2020 and 2022 cycles with yet another strong showing. This year, Democrats in Georgia qualified to run in every congressional race and a total of 73% of state legislative districts — higher than 2022’s total of 71%.

“Georgia Democrats are heading into this election cycle with more enthusiasm and a wider base of support than ever before. We saw Democrats show up from every corner of the state to qualify for races from the federal level all the way down to the county level,” said DPG Executive Director Tolulope Kevin Olasanoye. “Besting last cycle’s already-impressive total percentage of state legislative seats contested is proof positive that Georgia Democrats are fired up to represent Democratic values in every corner of the state. Don’t be surprised to see Georgia Democrats continue to shatter records, flip seats, and surpass expectations come November.”
