Help Move Georgia Forward
With less than thirty days until Election Day, GOP lieutenant gubernatorial nominee and 2020 fake elector Burt Jones is still standing by his efforts to overturn the presidential election that year – for which, according to a new report, he “could be indicted soon after” the election. In that new report today, Jones said he has “‘zero’ regret about participating in” a conspiracy to overturn the election, and refused to rule out using “the power of the lieutenant governor’s office to…continue investigations into the election.”
Jones also doubled down on his fake elector scheme just last week in an interview with FOX 5, in which he refused to acknowledge Joe Biden as the legitimately elected president. When asked if he felt if he “did the wrong thing” in trying to “give Georgia’s Electoral College votes to Trump instead of Biden,” Burt responded: “no.”
Jones’ involvement in the fake elector scheme continues to plague the Georgia GOP, with many members expressing concern that Jones is “a liability for… other Republicans” and “could damage the rest of the GOP ticket.”
