New reporting from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution details how President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will help reconnect historically Black neighborhoods in Atlanta that have been divided and deteriorated by the construction of highways in the 1950s and 1960s. The historic infrastructure package will dedicate $1 billion to reconnecting communities divided by transportation infrastructure and create a first-ever program to fund the planning, design, demolition, and reconstruction of street grids, parks, or other infrastructure.
