Today, GOP Rep. Buddy Carter admitted that he and Republicans will work to raise prescription drug costs for Georgians and all Americans if Republicans take control of the House, telling Fox News they plan to “undo” the historic cost-cutting measures in President Biden and Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act. Criticizing those provisions – which will save Georgia families hundreds or thousands of dollars per year – Carter said: “I’ve been asking my colleagues, how are we going to undo that when we get into the majority?”
Here’s what Buddy Carter and the GOP want to “undo”:
- Capping out-of-pocket costs of prescription drugs for seniors on Medicare at $2,000 a year.
- Finally allowing Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices, saving billions of dollars for seniors and people with disabilities.
- Capping the cost of insulin for Medicare beneficiaries with diabetes at $35 a month.
