ATLANTA – Today, the Democratic Party of Georgia announced the Georgia Voter Protection Hotline is now assisting voters in Chinese, English, Korean, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
Thanks to bilingual volunteers, the Georgia Voter Protection Hotline is now able to help even more Georgia voters. Hotline volunteers help hundreds of voters each day, working overtime to ensure that eligible Georgians understand their rights and have every resource they need to exercise their right to vote.
“Providing assistance to voters in their first language is a critical component of making sure every eligible Georgian’s vote is cast and counted,” said Rebecca DeHart, Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Often, voters whose first language is not English face hurdles when voting, particularly when voting for the first time. Our voter protection volunteers are here to help.”
The Democratic Party of Georgia was the first state party in the country to hire a full-time, permanent voter protection director. The 24/7 voter protection hotline opened in March 2018 and was featured on CNN earlier this month.
Georgia voters can reach the hotline by calling 888-730-5816.
