Today, all nine Georgia Republicans in Congress voted for MAGA extremist Jim Jordan, an ultra-MAGA firebrand and Trump’s chief election denier in Congress, for Speaker of the House. In response, Congresswoman Nikema Williams, Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia, released the following statement:
“Today, all nine Georgia Republicans in Congress fully caved to MAGA extremism by supporting an insurrectionist for Speaker who cares more about doing Donald Trump’s bidding than governing. After weeks of GOP disarray and chaos in the U.S. House, Georgia Republicans just showed that the only thing they’re capable of uniting behind is Jim Jordan’s extreme MAGA agenda of election denying, banning abortion nationwide, and causing costly government shutdowns that hurt Georgians.”
