ATLANTA — This morning, following the death of civil rights hero Reverend C.T. Vivian, Democratic Party of Georgia chairwoman Nikema Williams released the following statement: 

“Reverend C.T. Vivian was a true hero and a guiding light towards justice for every single one of us in the fight today. He showed us that real leadership comes from action, from righteous struggles, and from never relenting from the people’s work, even in the face of great hatred. 

His compassion and righteousness will be very missed by all who knew him. I wish peace and comfort to his family.”
