Democratic Party of Georgia Chair Issues Statement on Passing of Herman J. Russell

  

Dublin, GA – Today, Democratic Party of Georgia Chairman DuBose Porter issued the following statement on the passing of Atlanta businessman and civil rights activist Herman J. Russell.

 

“Earlier this year, Georgia Democrats had the honor of presenting Herman Russell with the John Lewis Lifetime Achievement Award, and I could not think of anyone more deserving of an award that celebrates those who have broken down barriers and pushed our state forward toward its full potential.

 

“Georgia will long remember, and be ever grateful for his life spent advancing civil rights, his devotion to those in need, and his legacy that helped build our great state.”
