Donald Trump Wants to Rip Away Affordable Health Care From 1.8 Million Georgians With Preexisting Conditions

November 28, 2023

This week, Donald Trump threatened to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA) if elected, which would raise health care costs and rip away health care protections for 1.8 million Georgians with preexisting conditions. In response, Democratic Party of Georgia spokesperson Ellie Schwartz released the following statement:

“Donald Trump’s promise to Georgians is clear and simple: if elected, he will make health care more expensive and less accessible. Despite the fact that a record number of Georgians are now covered by the Affordable Care Act, Trump is doubling down on his push to repeal the ACA, kick Georgians off their insurance, explode health care costs, and roll back President Biden’s progress on lowering prescription drug costs. In the face of Republicans’ blatant efforts to put lifesaving health care out of reach for Georgians, Democrats and President Biden will continue fighting to make health care more affordable and accessible for all.”
