In response to John Pence’s trip to Georgia today, Georgia Democrats Communications Director Maggie Chambers released the following statement:
“Today’s visit from Trump campaign surrogate John Pence is nothing more than a distraction from the crushing reality of over 190,000 American lives lost and six million coronavirus infections on Donald Trump’s watch. Georgians — especially Black and Brown Georgians — have borne the brunt of this administration’s failures to contain the spread of COVID-19, and today’s photo ops do nothing to support the families here who have lost loved ones or are battling this disease right now.”
