In recognition of Diwali, Democratic Party of Georgia Chairwoman Nikema Williams issued the following statement:
“This week, as millions in Georgia, India, and around the world celebrate Diwali, we are reminded of the power of light triumphing over darkness, wisdom over ignorance, and good over evil. Here in Georgia, holidays like Diwali highlight the beauty of our state’s diversity and the lessons we can all learn from one another’s traditions. On behalf of Georgia Democrats, I wish all those who celebrate a very happy and healthy Diwali – may the Festival of Lights bring hope and renewal to all.”
