ATLANTA – Today, in response to Georgia House Republicans’ appalling choice to pass abortion ban legislation, Democratic Party of Georgia Chairwoman Nikema Williams issued the following statement:
“In the dead of night, Georgia Republicans have shown their true, vile colors: they don’t trust Georgia women to make their own healthcare decisions. While the majority of Americans support a woman’s right to a safe and legal abortion, and while our state faces a maternal health crisis, Republicans have voted to make Georgia the most dangerous place to be a woman in America. This bill is a complete disgrace, and Georgia Democrats won’t stop fighting and standing up for women.”
