Tonight, as Vice President Joe Biden formally accepts his nomination for President of the United States, Democratic Party of Georgia Chairwoman Nikema Williams released the following statement:

“This is the most important election in our lifetimes — and we as a nation are so lucky to have Joe Biden leading this fight. Joe Biden is a man of character, a man of decency, whose compassionate leadership and eye towards progress is exactly what we need to lead us out of this crisis.

Our fight is about more than beating Donald Trump. This November, we will vote for progress, for lifting up those who feel left out and left behind, and for leadership that will truly listen to the people’s calls for change.

Joe is the leader we need to win in November, and to rebuild our country so it finally lives up to America’s promises. Georgia Democrats are ready for this fight, and we’re going to hustle for the next 75 days to elect Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Democrats across Georgia on November 3rd.”
