Alisha Thomas Searcy | State School Superintendent
Democrat Alisha Thomas Searcy is an educational consultant, author, former superintendent, and former policy maker. At age 23, Searcy made history as the first African American to serve residents of Cobb County in the Georgia House of Representatives. Searcy coauthored the state’s Teacher and Leader Evaluation System, and authored the state intra-district transfer law. She is a graduate of Spelman College and a member of Alpha Kappa Sorority, Incorporated.
