Brian Kemp Kisses Ring, Pledges Loyalty to Trump at Republican National Convention

July 16, 2024

Governor Brian Kemp spent his first day at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee pledging his loyalty to Donald Trump to any news outlet that would listen. Kemp did a number of interviews giving his full support to the former President — even after the Republican nominee threatened and pressured the Governor to fabricate votes in the 2020 election and then backed Kemp’s opponent for Governor in his 2022 reelection campaign. Yet, Brian Kemp, in a rather humiliating sign of defeat, still fell right in line.

“Brian Kemp toed the party line and supported Donald Trump as the price of admission to rub elbows with Republican power brokers at the RNC,” said DPG spox. “Kemp has tried to claim independence, but he shouldn’t get credit for simply being unwilling to break the law and then turning around and insisting we should put this person back in charge of the fate of all Georgians.”

According to Politico, Brian Kemp has committed to spending millions, “offering his help to several Republicans down ballot across the country this year, maintaining a national profile as he eyes his own political future.”
