Today, State Rep. Karlton Howard held a virtual press call in response to new CNN reporting detailing GOP U.S. senate candidate Mike Collins’ close ties to white nationalism and neo-Nazi propaganda.
The report details “Mike Collins’ son-in-law—featured in campaign photos, registered to vote at a Collins-owned property, and appearing at his victory party—is a white nationalist influencer who has promoted Nazi imagery and called for ‘clearing our land of other people.’”
On the heels of this troubling reporting about his close ties to white nationalism and neo-Nazi propaganda, CNN also revealed a new development last night that Collins is refusing to say whether he ever paid neo-Nazi propagandist David Alan Scheer, and whether Scheer has an ongoing role in Collins’ campaign for U.S. Senate. Scheer has been featured on Collins’ campaign website and social media.
This week, a group of 120 Jewish Georgians signed onto a letter publicly condemning Collins’ “racist, xenophobic, and antisemitic” actions and held a press call slamming Collins for his connection to white nationalist and neo-Nazi propaganda.
“Mike Collins clearly isn’t afraid to embrace neo-Nazi ideology and white supremacists. This should alarm every Georgian,” said State Rep. Karlton Howard. “But Mike Collins has so far refused to answer questions that Georgians deserve to know the answers to: Has Mike Collins, either personally, or through his business, or through his office, or through his campaign, paid Scheer? Is Scheer still based on Mike Collins’ property? I urge members of the Georgia press to reach out to Collins and get answers to these questions as he remains silent and refuses to speak out on the white nationalism and neo-Nazi propaganda that he’s surrounded by.”
