Today, the Democratic Party of Georgia is reminding Georgia voters that Derek Dooley has nothing to run on other than being a failed, fired, loser former Tennessee football coach – despite Dooley going up on TV one month out from the May 19th primary to try to distract from the embarrassing narrative.

During his time at Tennessee, Dooley racked up a 15-21 losing record, including a 4-19 losing SEC record, before getting fired “after posting Tennessee’s longest run of consecutive losing seasons in over a century.

“Without his father’s last name, Derek Dooley never becomes a failed football coach, and without the governor’s, he never becomes a struggling GOP candidate for U.S. Senate,” said Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Communications Advisor Devon Cruz. “In the last few weeks of the primary, Georgians deserve to know that Dooley has failed in every coaching job he’s ever had and that record of failure cannot be trusted anywhere near the United States Senate—no matter how hard Brian Kemp tries to force it.”
