Walker’s Latest Lies: Georgians Speak Out Against Walker’s Charitable Giving Lies, Voice Their Opposition to His Candidacy

Another week, another lie from Herschel Walker after a New York Times investigation revealed that Walker has been lying about “giv[ing] millions of dollars to charities,” local non-profit advocates, MS patients, and veterans spoke out against the Trump-tapped candidate. 

Walker’s lies, conduct, and out-of-step positions continue to lead even conservatives, moderates, and independent voters to question whether they can vote for him.

WDUN: GOP Senate Candidate Herschel Walker Called Out for Charity Lies

• WDUN Anchor: “Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker is being called out by state Democrats for allegedly falsely claiming his food distribution company gave millions of dollars to charity.
  
• “State Representative Mary Robichaux claims Walker’s proven time and time again that he’s comfortable lying to Georgians.”
  
• Rep. Robichaux: “He’s lied about his academic record, his business record, his involvement with law enforcement, his involvement with veterans — and now, we’re finding out that he’s lied repeatedly about donating to charity just to bolster his public image. We don’t need that.”
  
• WDUN Anchor: “A New York Times report revealed that Walker claimed to donate a percentage of profits to organizations like the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, but no evidence was found that backed up those claims.” 

MS Patient Charles De Young: 

• Charles De Young: “And without donations — without real donations — we have no quality of life. There’s just it’s not there.
  
• “It just hurts — it hurts to be used as a springboard to make somebody … try to make themselves look better.
  
• “Why would you do that?” 

State Rep. Mary Robichaux:

• Rep. Mary Robichaux: “Walker’s proven time and time again that he’s completely comfortable lying to us here in Georgia to make himself into something he’s not — to use good people and good causes to accomplish this goal.
  
• “He’s lied about his academic record, his business record, his involvement with law enforcement, his involvement with veterans — and now, we’re finding out that he’s lied repeatedly about donating to charities just to bolster his public image.
  
• “We don’t need that. What kind of person lies for decades about donating to charities, and why would we trust someone like that to serve in the United States Senate?”

Marine Corps Veteran John Jackson:

• John Jackson: “What kind of person targets veterans and servicemembers to make more money?
  
• “Apparently, the same type of person who promises millions of dollars to charities that he never planned on giving to.” 

Meanwhile Republicans, moderates, and independents continue to indicate that they are not sure they can support Walker’s lie, scam, and gaffe-filled campaign.

• Jean McHugh, a 68-year-old independent who was with her niece in a Cobb County shopping center in mid September, said she couldn’t support Walker in part because of his abortion stance. She will vote for Warnock. “It’s not so much that I want to vote for him,” she said, as that “I don’t want to vote for Herschel Walker.”
  
• Other anti-Walker voters who spoke with NR deemed him little more than a knucklehead football player and a Trump puppet. Ray Barton, 66, an independent from Rome, Ga., said that as a Georgia Bulldogs fan, he should be torn about the race, but he isn’t. He called Walker an incredible football player and a seemingly nice person, “but as a candidate for the United States Senate, it’s a joke.”
