VETO HB 369!
VETO HB 369!
HB 369 Would Remove Party Affiliation
Late last Friday, Republicans in the state legislature passed HB 369 – a bill that would remove party affiliation from ballots only in five traditionally Democratic metro Atlanta counties (Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Cobb, and Clayton) in a deliberate attempt to deceive voters in these counties into voting for Republicans. This bill is anti-democratic and if passed into law, a much smaller portion of Georgia’s electorate would vote for these critical public offices. The non-partisan District Attorneys Association of Georgia also opposes this bill and argues that it is unconstitutional.
This is why we need to urge Governor Kemp to veto this legislation. It does not represent the will of Georgians – just the will of a Republican party who is quickly losing influence in public offices across the state.
