In a tele-rally Thursday night, President Trump heaped praise on Burt Jones, calling him a “fanatic” for his work as a fake elector who tried to overturn the will of Georgia voters.

This was Jones’ second tele-rally with the President in the past month alone, as he continues to put his loyalty to Trump ahead of what’s best for Georgians. Jones has made his endorsement from Trump a central pitch of his campaign, and stood side-by-side with Trump earlier this year in Rome as the president mocked the affordability crisis and praised the illegal tariffs that have raised costs for Georgians.

“Burt Jones has always been Trump’s most loyal foot soldier in Georgia,” said Jake Strickland, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “He’s made clear throughout his campaign that he will do Trump’s bidding rather than fight for what’s in the best interest of our state.”

Jones has consistently abetted Trump’s attempts to undermine Georgia’s elections. The New York Times recently revealed the lengths to which Jones went to undermine the 2020 election in Georgia, and how he remains a “true believer” in Trump’s attacks on the integrity of Georgia’s elections. Earlier this year, he offered his full-throated support for Trump’s attacks on Fulton County’s elections.

While Trump has endorsed Jones, Jackson has also made Trump the centerpiece of his campaign. Jackson has said he will be “Trump’s favorite governor” and that he can’t “name a single White House policy he disagrees with.” He has also been “adamant” on the campaign trail that the 2020 election was stolen, as both candidates embrace Trump’s far-flung efforts to undermine Georgia elections.
