Today Is Election Day in Georgia

Today is election day in Georgia, marking the final opportunity for voters to cast their ballots in the May 21st primary election.

All Georgians who haven’t voted yet should plan to vote in person at their assigned polling location today. Voters can find their polling location and hours by visiting the My Voter Page.

Voters who are unable to vote in person but have received an absentee ballot must fill it out and return their ballot directly to their local elections office by tonight, May 21st, at 7:00pm. Georgians can find the address for their elections office at the My Voter Page or on their county’s election office website.

All Georgians who haven’t yet cast their ballot should make a plan to vote using the information below and on DPG’s website, and call or text the Voter Protection Hotline at 1-888-730-5816 with questions.

OPTION 1: Vote at the Polls on Election Day (recommended)

Vote in person TODAY if you are able.

  • When: TODAY, Tuesday, May 21st. Polls are open between 7:00am-7:00pm. As long as you are in line by the time polls close, you can stay in line until you cast your ballot.
  • Where: You must vote at your assigned polling location. 
  • How: Visit your My Voter Page and scroll down to “Polling Information” to find your assigned polling location and call the hotline at 1-888-730-5816 with any questions.

OPTION 2: Return Your Absentee Ballot Before 7PM

If you cannot vote in person and have already requested and received an absentee ballot, fill it out and return it ASAP.

  • When: All absentee ballots must be returned and received by your local elections office by 7:00pm on Election Day, TODAY, May 21st.
  • How: Return your ballot by bringing it directly to your local election office before polls close tonight. Find the address for your local election office on your My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov, on your county’s election office website, or by calling the Voter Protection Hotline at 1-888-730-5816. Ballots will not be accepted at polling locations. Alternatively, if you prefer to vote in person, you can go to your assigned polling place and cast a ballot. Bring your absentee ballot with you, if you have it, but you can vote in person even if you do not have your absentee ballot with you.
