As Georgians contend with a cost-of-living crisis – compounded by skyrocketing gas prices – Trump is “not think[ing] about Americans’ financial situation,” working instead to build out a $1.8 billion slush fund for the insurrectionists and cop beaters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6.
With the GOP candidates for governor working overtime to convince Georgians they’re exactly like the president, they must answer: Do they support Trump’s slush fund?
- Rick Jackson has been “adamant” on the trail that the 2020 election was stolen, and has shared that he can’t “name a single White House policy he disagrees with.” Does that wide-ranging support apply to Trump’s slush fund?
- Burt Jones has long been Trump’s #1 lapdog in Georgia, and even went as far as serving as a fake elector to overturn the president’s 2020 loss in Georgia. Does Jones support the slush fund – and what’s more, does he think he is entitled to restitution?
“Rick Jackson and Burt Jones remind voters every single day that they’re focused on fighting for Trump rather than working to lower Georgians’ costs,” said Democratic Party of Georgia spokesperson Jake Strickland. “Georgians deserve to know whether Jackson and Jones support Trump’s slush fund, because if they won’t call out taxpayer dollars going to insurrectionists and people who have assaulted police officers, Georgians can’t trust them to stand up for them.”
