DPG Chair Statement on President Obama’s SCOTUS Nominee

 

Atlanta, GA – Democratic Party of Georgia Chair DuBose Porter issued the following statement on the nomination of Chief Judge Merrick Garland to the U.S. Supreme Court.

 

“Chief Judge Merrick Garland’s qualifications are indisputable. He is a talented jurist who has dedicated his life to public service and deserves a vote.

 

“Johnny Isakson and David Perdue—who have both said they will block the nomination process—have decided to play politics with the highest court in the land. They are refusing to fulfill their duties under the U.S. Constitution. Their obstructionism is a serious injustice the people of Georgia, who simply want our U.S. Senators to do their job.”
