Today, on the anniversary of the Atlanta spa shootings, Congresswoman Nikema Williams, Chairwoman of the Democratic Party of Georgia released the following statement:
“Our hearts are heavy today as we mark the one-year anniversary of the horrific murders of multiple members of Georgia’s Asian American and Pacific Islander community. Sadly, one year later, anti-Asian hate and violence have continued to rise throughout the country. This unacceptable spike in hate-fueled violence cannot be tolerated – everyone has the right to live without fear of being targeted due to race, ethnicity, or gender. As we remember the victims of this massacre and honor their lives, we stand arm-in-arm with the AAPI community in the ongoing fight against discrimination, racism, and hatred in all its forms.”
