Senate Republicans Advance Trump’s Dangerous Budget with Backing of GOP U.S. Senate Candidates in Georgia

June 28, 2025

Today, Senate Republicans voted to advance Donald Trump’s dangerous budget bill that a Congressional Budget Office analysis found would leave 750,000 Georgians uninsured, and rip away $540 million from rural hospitals, according to reporting by the AJC.

Every step of the way, the GOP U.S. Senate candidates in Georgia like Rep. Buddy Carter, Commissioner John King, and Rep. Mike Collins have proudly supported this harmful budget despite the massive damage it would cause to the state:

In recent days, Georgians have spoken out about the damage that Trump’s budget would cause all over the state, including one rural doctor who warned that massive Medicaid cuts would send the state’s rural health care system “into freefall.”

“GOP U.S. Senate candidates have paved the way for this dangerous budget bill to advance through the Senate — proving that working families in Georgia rank dead last on their list of priorities,” said Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Communications Advisor Devon Cruz. “The attacks on affordable health care and rural hospitals in Georgia will not go unanswered as we work to keep Buddy Carter, John King, Mike Collins and any other Republican who puts tax cuts for billionaires over Georgians out of the U.S. Senate.”
