Rick Jackson and Donald Trump are *obsessed* with each other – and they can’t stop talking about their billionaire bromance as the general election campaign heats up.

This week in Marietta, Jackson joined Trump on stage to proudly proclaim (again) that he’s running to be Trump’s “favorite governor.” Then, Trump told Atlanta News First that Jackson “will be a supporter of his” who lavished him with “a couple million dollars” to prove his MAGA loyalty.

But Trump clearly couldn’t get enough, because late Thursday night he posted on Truth Social about how Jackson had his “complete and total endorsement” in this race.

Jackson has very clearly centered Trump at the heart of this race — but with the president underwater at 42 percent approval in the latest Fox News poll and his policies hurting families across our state, this embrace of Trump will be a liability for Jackson throughout this campaign.

“Rick Jackson and Donald Trump are two peas in a pod. They’re pushing the same policies that have jacked up costs and worsened healthcare outcomes all around our state,” said Democratic Party of Georgia spokesperson Jake Strickland. “Slick Rick’s MAGA millions might be able to buy off Donald Trump, but they certainly can’t buy off Georgia voters.”

Jackson and Trump’s billionaire bromance should come as no surprise, given how closely Jackson has aligned himself with the president throughout his campaign.

  • Since the first very first days of his campaign, Jackson has consistently told voters that he will be “Trump’s favorite governor” and that he will be “Trump with a Southern tone.”
  • Jackson has made clear that he’ll govern “just like Trump,” and told the AJC that he “couldn’t name a single White House policy he disagrees with.”
