Tonight, Rep. Mike Collins voted to gut Medicaid, threatening health care for Georgia kids and families.

Rep. Collins voted for the House Republican budget, which is projected to slash Medicaid by $1.72 billion for the 137,587 Georgians in the 10th Congressional District who rely upon Medicaid for life-saving health care and medicine.

In response to Rep. Collins voting to gut health care for his constituents, DPG spokesperson Ellie Schwartz released the following statement:

In Georgia, sixty-seven percent of Medicaid recipients are children, half of all childbirths are covered by Medicaid, and three-quarters of seniors in nursing homes rely on Medicaid. Rep. Collins’ vote to gut Medicaid is a shameful vote against the health of his own constituents.”
