Help Move Georgia Forward
After Trump again claims that he has a secret health care plan to protect people with pre-existing conditions, both Loeffler and Collins continue to stand behind Republican lawsuit that threatens entire health care law
ATLANTA — As President Donald Trump again claimed last night that he would protect those with pre-existing conditions with a non-existent health care plan, both Senator Kelly Loeffler and Congressman Doug Collins are still standing behind their party’s dangerous lawsuit that would gut the health care law and its critical protections for 1.8 million Georgians with pre-existing conditions.
Neither candidate has backed down from this reckless lawsuit which would threaten health care coverage for millions in the middle of the coronavirus outbreak. Instead, Collins has praised the lawsuit as a way to “overcome” the law after repeatedly voting to gut the law in Congress, while Loeffler has promised to back Republican leadership — which supports this lawsuit — “100%.”
What would the outcome look like for Georgians if Loeffler and Collins have their way?
“President Donald Trump has spent his entire administration fighting against the health care law and its critical protections for 1.8 million Georgians with pre-existing conditions — and both Senator Kelly Loeffler and Congressman Doug Collins have been proud to stand with him the whole time,” said Alex Floyd, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Even in the middle of a pandemic, Loeffler and Collins are still standing behind Republicans’ reckless lawsuit which would put Georgians’ health care coverage more at risk than ever at a time when they need it most.”
