Today, a federal judge rejected the Trump DOJ’s attacks on Georgia elections. As a reminder, Rick Jackson strongly supported these attacks, which began with the FBI raiding an election warehouse in Fulton County earlier this year.
Jackson previously supported these attacks on Fulton County election workers, and has embraced Trump’s election conspiracy theories throughout his campaign.
POLITICO previously reported that Jackson is “adamant” the 2020 election was stolen, telling a crowd “[t]hat was totally ridiculous what happened in 2020 and our people really let us down.”
“Rick Jackson has made clear he supports Trump’s attacks on Georgia elections, and would bend the knee to him every step of the way if ever elected governor,” said Democratic Party of Georgia spokesperson Jake Strickland.
It should come as no surprise that Jackson will bend the knee to Trump given how closely Jackson has aligned himself with the president throughout his campaign.
- Jackson has repeatedly told voters that he will be “Trump’s favorite governor” and that he will be “Trump with a Southern tone.”
- Jackson has made clear that he’ll govern “just like Trump,” and even gave Trump a $1 million donation in December 2025 to prove his loyalty to him.
- Jackson “said he couldn’t name a single White House policy he disagrees with,” according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
