ACA coverage is more affordable than ever thanks to President Biden & Democrats’ American Rescue Plan

Tomorrow, Saturday, January 15 is the final day for Georgians to enroll in a 2022 health insurance plan through the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Georgians who need health insurance can get covered at Healthcare.gov or by calling 1-800-318-2596.

Sign-ups for ACA insurance in Georgia hit new highs last year thanks to cost-saving action from President Biden and Democrats’ American Rescue Plan, which included ACA subsidies that substantially lowered out-of-pocket costs and allowed Georgians across all income brackets to access more affordable coverage.

As a result of those ACA subsidies, new consumers nationwide saw the median deductible fall from $450 to $50 during a special enrollment period last year. Americans purchasing coverage through the ACA saw a drop in premiums of $67 a month on average, saving families over $800 annually, and four out of five were able to find quality coverage for under $10 a month. Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, Georgians currently enjoy some of the lowest premiums in the nation.

Georgians who still need health coverage this year should visit Healthcare.gov before midnight on Saturday to find a plan that works for them.
