Help Move Georgia Forward
Both politicians have been caught in recent days lying about their records
ATLANTA — Yesterday in an ABC News town hall, President Trump claimed Republicans would “protect people with pre-existing conditions,” despite the fact his administration is currently in court fighting to kill the Affordable Care Act and its protections for pre-existing conditions. Trump echoed similar claims made by Senator David Perdue, which PolitiFact recently deemed “false” as he attempts to deceive voters about his toxic record.
Senator Perdue’s deceitful effort to “obscure [his] position on pre-existing conditions” and run away from his disastrous record was also recently highlighted in an AJC report exposing Perdue’s last ditch effort to rewrite his record in the tightening Senate race. PolitiFact noted that Perdue’s “record on preexisting conditions doesn’t match his promises.”
“Senator Perdue and President Trump spent the past three years working to strip away protections for pre-existing conditions for 1.8 million Georgians, but now that their efforts are overwhelmingly unpopular, they’ve resorted to lying about it,” said Braxton Brewington, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Perdue has attempted to cover up his record of hurting hard-working Georgia families, and Georgians won’t fall for this election-season deceit.”
