Reps. Buddy Carter and Mike Collins Will Not Return to Work in DC for Fourth Week In a Row

Reps. Buddy Carter and Mike Collins are skipping out on work in DC for the fourth week in a row after shutting down the government over their opposition to extending critical ACA tax credits for 1.4 million Georgians according to the U.S. House committee calendar for the month of October:

While Carter and Collins can’t even bother to show up to work, their constituents face potential average ACA premium increases of 296% and 345%, respectively, for an average 60-year-old couple.

“Reps. Buddy Carter and Mike Collins have been out of office for four weeks now, proving that they are not serious about reopening the government, protecting health care for 1.4 million Georgians, and putting people over the agenda of their party,” said Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Communications Advisor Devon Cruz. “If Carter and Collins can’t even bother to show up to work on behalf of Georgians in the House, they certainly don’t deserve to work for them in the Senate.”
