On the John Fredericks Show this week, GOP U.S. Senate candidate “MAGA warrior” Buddy Carter tore into failed and fired former Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley when talking about the GOP Senate primary.

Here’s some key hits from Carter:

  • “If you voted once in the last 20 years, I would submit to you that you know that that’s inexcusable.”
  • “When Teddy Roosevelt was talking about the Man in the Arena, he wasn’t talking about Derek Dooley, that’s for sure.”
  • “Unlike Derek Dooley, I do have a record.”

Carter’s latest take down of Dooley comes after he kicked off the election year by slamming Dooley over his failure to vote in any election for over 20 years in an interview on the Brian Kilmeade Show.

Carter argued that, “You ought not be eligible to run for the Senate if you’ve only voted once, if you haven’t been participating.”

“With four months to go until the GOP primary, Buddy Carter’s attacks on Derek Dooley are getting messier and messier,” said Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Communications Advisor Devon Cruz. “No matter who makes it out in May, it’s clear that the GOP nominee will have been thoroughly bruised and battered before limping over the finish line.”
