Oppose HB215!

Fight Against Republican’s Efforts to Weaken Democracy

ERIC (Electronic Registration Information Center) is an important data-sharing system that states use to maintain accurate voting rolls and to ensure people don’t vote in multiple states.

Contact your State Representatives on the House Governmental Affairs Committee NOW and tell them they should vote NO on HB215, which would withdraw Georgia from ERIC. ERIC uses cutting edge data matching technology to identify voters who are deceased, who have moved out of Georgia, and who have registered to vote in another state. The ERIC system adheres to strict information security standards to enable safe data sharing among the states who are enrolled.

In recent years, Republican-led states have withdrawn from ERIC, but their rationale for doing so has been based largely on conspiracy theories. Furthermore, their solutions for filling the gap that ERIC efficiently addresses would be more onerous and costly to state election offices. Additionally, these other “substitutes” for ERIC are inadequate because they don’t have access to the same government databases, and aren’t used by a large number of states.
