Once Again, Trump’s Harmful Budget Passed Through House with Backing of GOP U.S. Senate Candidates

July 3, 2025

Today, GOP U.S. Senate candidates and those considering running voted once again to pass Trump’s harmful budget bill, despite the fact that “no state may have more to lose than Georgia” from its cuts to Medicaid, health care, and jobs.

“MAGA warrior”  Rep. Buddy Carter and reported potential Senate candidate Rep. Mike Collins, proudly voted for the devastating bill which would enact $900 billion in cuts to Medicaid, rip away the affordable health insurance of almost 12 million Americans, including 750,000 Georgians, jeopardize the future of rural hospitals across Georgia, and threaten jobs and manufacturing in the state’s clean energy industry.

The candidates and potential candidates have made it clear to Georgians where they stand:

“The Republicans running for Senate have let every single Georgian know exactly where they stand on their list of priorities: dead last,” said Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Communications Advisor Devon Cruz. “From now until next November, we will make sure that every Georgian knows that these candidates put delivering tax cuts for billionaires over protecting their affordable health care, supporting their rural hospitals, and standing up for their jobs and economy.”
